Cowboys Finally Get a Safety, Sign Ha Ha Clinton-Dix

The Dallas Cowboys have signed a safety. Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is now the newest member of the Cowboys defense. A position that’s caused them trouble for years now has been upgraded by the front office. Just in time to replace Jeff Heath, Clinton-Dix will provide talent to a thin group in Dallas.

According to Jane Slater, it’s a one-year deal for $4M and only 2.5 guaranteed.

The #Cowboys have signed safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, per his agent @_SportsTrust. Some much needed talent in the defensive backfield.

Clinton-Dix was a first-round pick out of Alabama and there’s no denying his talent. He has spent most of his career in Green Bay, where he played from 2014 until 2018 and earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2016. In the last couple of seasons, he’s played with the Washington Redskins and Chicago Bears respectively.

He was picked in the first round of the NFL Round by no other than McCarthy’s Packers. Coming to Dallas will be a reunion for both. He played five years with the Packers.

In six-year his career, he’s racked up 16 interceptions and 522 total tackles.

While he’s not acknowledged as one of the league’s top safeties, Clinton-Dix is a reliable starter and is clearly an upgrade over Jeff Heath. In 2019, he signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bears and finished the season as PFF’s 19th-ranked safety in the NFL as he had 78 tackles and two interceptions.

Ha Ha Clinton-Dix will make an instant impact on the Cowboys defense. Being that his deal is not expensive at all, this is a very good signing for Dallas. Safety, however, might still be in consideration in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Well what do you know they are who they are they need to do what’s right and get some up-and-coming talent.

Well we had to do something!

Where will Xavier Woods play since they are both deep safeties? Really doesn't replace or upgrade from Jeff Heath! Hopefully Dallas will draft a Xavier McKinney or a Kyle Dugger to play SS and cover tight ends, especially Philly's Zach Ertz!

Ha Ha Clinton Dix is like Xavier Mckinney.... He can play any of the safety positions!! I'm happy about this signing, but I still hope we get Xavier Mckinney with our first pick in the draft!! We'll need him since we only signed Clinton Dix to a 1 year deal!!
