Which new-look Dallas Cowboys will have the best 2nd half?

The Dallas Cowboys are starting the second half of the season on Monday night, and with that comes a few new faces that are new to the team and also just new to playing this season in general.

All of these new faces come on the side of the ball that has been the worst in football, the defense.

Not only are we going to see defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson, who were added via trades, but there are up to four defenders who could return from injury.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. are set to make their debuts this week while safeties Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker could return after missing multiple games.

Biggest Impact?

Well, the answer for this one might be clear-cut. Everyone is picking Williams, I am sure, but he won’t make the biggest splash plays or anything being a defensive tackle, but he will probably have the biggest impact.

I think Overshown over the course of the second half of the season is going to make truly the biggest impact. This team needs so much help everywhere and linebacker and the secondary is where it starts.

He will potentially be on a pitch count Monday night:

“We talked about it, and that’s what you want to do coming off of any injury, especially for a guy that hasn’t played in 300 some days, just ramping them up and getting to it. But we already know, man, it’s winning football time. So when the time comes, when the situation comes, if I’m at that play count or that limit, we already have made the conversation where, look, it’s a play that needs to be made, I got to be on the field.”

The Cowboys’ defense is 29th in the NFL in passing yards after nine games. They’ve struggled in the secondary, and when I mean struggled, like I could run a route and have a chance to make a catch, that is how bad it has been.

Revel was considered one of the biggest steals in the NFL draft. He will look to make an impact as well, and I am glad the Cowboys drafted him.

It just really sucks that we still have an entire second half of the season, and the 2026 season with two first round picks and all this talent coming back is looking better than the current season we are in.

Either way, we will have to wait and see if this defense improves at all, but look for Overshown to make a huge impact play or two Monday night.
