Washington, Philadelphia Game Flexed To Sunday Night Football

The Dallas Cowboys saved their season on Sunday, running the Eagles out of the building to the tune of a 37-17 victory. They kept their slim playoff hopes alive, and though they are currently playing the best football in the division, they’ll need some help from those same hated Eagles next Sunday.

Washington sits in the drivers seat of the NFC East, needing just to win their regular season finale to clinch a division title. Per Washington themselves, the NFL has flexed that play-in-game against Philadelphia to Sunday Night Football next week.

The Cowboys and Giants are still set to play at Noon Central Time, meaning that the winner of that game will have to wait all day to see if they have earned a playoff spot. This keeps both games meaningful for the league, making sure fans are glued to their seats regardless of the outcome of game one.

Washington hopes to have quarterback Alex Smith ready for Sunday in primetime, but if he can’t go they will likely turn again to Taylor Heinicke, who came in late during their loss to the Panthers on Sunday.

Washington has lost two straight, and the Cowboys are hoping they’ll fall a third time.
