Report: No New Deal for WR Amari Cooper, can Talk to Other Teams

This isn’t exactly an ideal situation for the Dallas Cowboys. After the exclusive franchise tag was placed on Dak Prescott this morning, the organization had until 11:59 am ET to get a long-term deal done with Amari Cooper, and now that time has passed.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the two sides were unable to reach an agreement before the legal tampering phase begun at noon ET, which allows him to talk to other teams.

The #Cowboys won’t have a deal for WR Amari Cooper by the time the tampering window opens, but they’ve had talks and obviously want to bring him back. Those talks will continue.

Now, other teams can reach out for his services, even though the Cowboys front office and Cooper are still working diligently to get a contract finalized.

On WR Amari Cooper my source tells me the two sides are talking. “Good talks” what’s the hold up? “Still a little bit of everything”

The waiting game for a long-term deal for Cooper continues, for now. More details to come.

Was this helpful?

I write dope stuff about the Dallas Cowboys and what not.
