Jason Garrett may not be done working in the NFC East after all, or even wearing blue for that matter. It is being reported today that the former Dallas Cowboys head coach is interviewing with the New York Giants for their open offensive coordinator position.

Aside from his significant familiarity with New York from 13 seasons of coaching in the same division, Garrett also played as a backup quarterback for the Giants from 2000-2003.

Per @MikeGarafolo: Former #Cowboys coach Jason Garrett is in the #Giants facility today interviewing for the vacant OC job today. Garrett is no longer under contract.

Garrett’s coaching tenure in Dallas ended this offseason after a disappointing 8-8 record and no playoff appearance. The Cowboys hired former Packers coach Mike McCarthy to replace him.

Joining the Giants staff would put Garrett under first-time head coach Joe Gudge, who has previously worked as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach with the Patriots. New York may value Garrett’s experience to help Judge in his early years with the new responsibility.

It’s no surprise that the Giants have a healthy respect for Garrett. New York has lost six straight games to the Cowboys and Jason is 13-6 against them overall since 2010.

Things are still just in the interviewing phase so this may not come to be. But indeed, the Cowboys may soon be coaching against Jason Garrett’s offense twice a year.

It’s up to you if that’s a good thing or a bad thing.
