How Will Dak Prescott Perform in Week 1

The preseason is over, and now the Dallas Cowboys can look forward to playing the regular season. This means starters like Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, Running Back Ezekiel Elliott, and Quarter Back Dak Prescott will return to the field. However, after the preseason, how will Dak Prescott perform in week one against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Dak has been a very critical player on the Cowboys and has had very good performances in his six seasons at Dallas. This year, we have so far learned that the Cowboys’ offensive line lacks massive skill. How will this affect Dak?

Well, the offensive line is the most important part when it comes to giving the quarterback time to throw the ball. This will be a crucial part of how Dak performs. If Prescott doesn’t have enough time to throw the ball, then we can already expect that a win is going to be unlikely vs Tampa Bay.

The offensive line needs to shape up immediately to prevent Dak from being sacked multiple times in week one.

On another note, fans must remember that Dak doesn’t have a lot of his past receivers. With Amari Cooper being traded and Michael Gallup still out due to injury, the wide receiver selection is slim for Dak.

Dak Prescott still has Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb, but two others will have to replace the other spots. Those two will most likely be Jalen Tolbert and DeVontae Turpin. These two new receivers will be a challenge for Dak to get used to. Hopefully, during practice, he has gotten familiar with each of their playing styles.

A whole lot of pressure is going to be on Dak Prescott this upcoming week due to those key points. If anything, the Cowboys may have to revert to running the ball a lot more with Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott.

Week one is going to be a disaster unless the Cowboys can fix their Offensive line and give Dak the time he needs. They also must make sure Dak is familiar with his new receivers for the upcoming game.

Even with a competent O line including Tyron Smith week 1 was likely a L. Given how poor the position this team is now in with the left side of the line and lacking quality back-ups this is going to be a long season. Eagles with the Division, Cowboys lucky to make the post-season as a wildcard. And the 27-year streak of post-season failure continues. Well done Jerry and Steven.

Correction, this should NOT be a big problem.

Every year it's some other excuse with this team. They certainly knew Tyron was a big time INJURY POSSIBILITY. So why not draft a real LT, instead of this late rising "guard" from a small school. Now maybe Ball, or Weletzko starting at LT? Who knows??? Apparently they are against bringing in an experienced FA. Patchwork O-line with the season starting soon is of their own doing, IMO. Aside from all this unnecessary drama,. if DP is the "elite" QB he is ginned up to be, this should be a big problem. Look at Burrow with a bad O-line playing in the SUPER BOWL last year. Beyond time the 40 million dollar man to produce with or without a good O-LINE.

I agree..... AND to top it off he's already a serial holder.... in this faster and stronger league....he's be #1 in holding penalities by week 2.

The offensive line can't be "fixed" other than an infusion of talent.

Watch the Tampa Bay preseason debut of Tom Brady. He had pass blocking where no one got within 4 yards of Brady. No QB can pass when being sacked. None. No rusher can run when being tackled behind the line. Dak and Elliott will do their jobs...the offense line must do theirs.
