Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Dak Prescott has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his huge passing day against the Patriots in Week 6.
With 445 yards and three touchdowns against the Patriots, Dak did more than just lead the league’s passers in yardage. Prescott put up the most passing yards that any QB has thrown for against a Bill Belichick defense in the two decades he’s been coaching New England.
With rushing yardage chipped in from Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, the Cowboys offense posted the most total yardage that a Belichick defense has ever given up when he’s been the head coach or defensive coordinator.
Despite having the NFL’s top offense in yards and scoring so far in 2021, Dallas has yet to have an Offensive Player of the Week until now. Prescott was the Cowboys’ last recipient of the award for Week 2 of the 2020 season.
Two weeks ago, CB Trevon Diggs was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his two interceptions against Carolina.
We expect to see Dak Prescott’s name in lights much more as this season continues. He already feels like a lock for Comeback Player of the Year and is currently a strong contender for Most Valuable Player.
