Cooper Rush and His Ability To Win

Wow, what an amazing performance by Quarterback Cooper Rush last Monday night. Cooper Rush shined this game with impressive stats and many highlighted plays in a 23-16 win over the New York Giants.

Cooper performed as well as any other great quarterback this week. He managed to get 215 yards and 1 touchdown. He also had a 21/31 passing completion. Seems like just some same old stats for Rush. Until you look at his highlights for the game.

Rush made some incredible passes in the game, resulting in huge plays that lined the offense up for scoring. Including this perfectly placed pass to CeeDee Lamb for a touchdown to take the lead.

I mean, what other quarterback can do this? In this pass, Rush placed the ball with pinpoint precision where only Lamb could catch that ball. His accuracy is freaky good.

Another great mindset he has that results in his ability to win games is his humble behavior. Cooper was asked by a reporter after the game what he thinks about the whole “QB battle” between him and Dak Prescott, Cooper decided to downplay the whole argument, stating he is only focused on winning.

This is the attitude that a QB needs to win games. Cooper has a winning mindset and it shows during and after games.

Cooper Rush is now 3-0 as a starter, a historical stat for a quarterback who was on the bench for the last couple of years of his career. What’s next for Cooper? Another NFC East opponent to play against. This time it’s the Washington Commanders.

Rush will try to improve to the improbable record of 4-0 as a starter. Not a lot of quarterbacks can say that they have accomplished an achievement like this. Can’t wait to see how Cooper performs next week. Hopefully, Gallup will make his return and give Rush another receiver to add to his collection.

Cooper is more accurate than Dak. But, his best attribute is his ability to process quickly and get rid of the ball. That helps the OL by not forcing them to sustain their blocks for longer than 3 secs, and by not having to resort to holding as much to sustain those blocks. He also doesn't run as many RPO's which require the OL to "hold their water" before getting downfield in case the QB pulls the ball and decides to pass. Now, if they could just clean up their pre-snap penalties.

In fairness, no one expected him to win against Cincinnati never mind a chance to go 3-0 this week.

  Improbable for a back-up QB. Everything in the article is looking through the eyes of a back-up. No, i'm not comapring Rush to Tom Brady, but comparing him with other quarterbacks that are newer.

Sorry Tony, but hold up the accolades. I'm impressed with the poise of Rush and he is very accurate. More so than Dak. But statements like "what other QB can do that" is hyperbole right now. I think everyone else agrees it's the Defense that is the catalyst of this team and a good ground game is helping immensely, especially since Moore finally sticks to the run. And there were a few other QBs that played better this week. Not to be putting a damper on his play which has been impressive but let's not expect All Pro accolades or a bust in Canton for Rush just yet.

  Well, perhaps I over hyped him, but its still not very common to see a Back-up QB perform at the level Cooper is. He is doing very well rn and getting lots of attention. This article was just a show and tell on "how" hes winning.

  Agree the article is a little over the top, however that defense now is the same defense in game one. So if we now say the catalyst of the team is the defense why the lopsided score in game one. I give credit where credit is due, to the "new" QB, and to much maligned O-line, that was getting hammered by many here. The same O-line that had DP "running for his life" seems to be doing a fine job for CR, just one sack in two games. And CR must be doing things right.
