CeeDee Lamb got his wish, says Cowboys offense has no ceiling

In February, Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb didn’t hold back on what the team needed to change to win a super bowl in 2023.

He told The Jim Rome Show that the team needs to be surrounded with playmakers.

After making it known the team needed to add some firepower, he now seems confident with the offensive side of the ball.

The team traded for the walking 1,000-yard receiver Brandin Cooks. He is the best player to never to make an All-Pro team or the Pro Bowl in the NFL.

“Can’t really put a ceiling on us,” Lamb said. “As you can tell, we can score from anywhere, quite honestly. We just have to put it together.”

CeeDee Lamb: “Dallas is somewhere I’ve always wanted to be. I don’t see myself really wearing any other jersey.”Trevon Diggs: “Hopefully something gets figured out. I love Dallas. I love being here.”Dak Prescott: “That’s stuff I leave to the Cowboys and I leave to my agent.… https://t.co/4IV2AxoCP7

I did not think that a year ago when they had Noah Brown and Dennis Houston behind Lamb.

With the addition of Cooks, and an entire offseason for Michael Gallup, I agree with Lamb.

Sure, I would feel better if Tony Pollard did not have to recover from injury. Let’s not forget they are adding an electric playmaker in Deuce Vaughn. He might be the most underrated draft pick for this team.

Most fans like to constantly jump on here and mention that the entire problem is Dak Prescott, and until he is gone, nothing will happen.

Comments about needing to dumb Prescott make me laugh. Four quarterbacks make more money than Prescott and sat at home while he won a playoff game in 2022.

If you tried to replace him with any guy available right now, or even a rookie, this team would win at most five games.

Either way, this isn’t about Prescott. This is about the Cowboys’ offense as a whole.

Kellen Moore is gone, and Mike McCarthy is now calling plays. If he sticks to the game plan, this offense will be really good.

I mean, think about this for a second. Last season, Lamb caught 107 balls for 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns.

Brown finished as the Cowboys’ next closest receiver in the stat column. 43 catches for 555 yards and three TDs.

The team now replaces Brown with Cooks, and as noted, if Gallup gets back to his usual self, this will be fun.

This team still has a lot to prove, but let me at least say this. I feel 1,000 times better right now than I did last season in the month of May.

They got better trading for Cooks and Stephon Gilmore on the defensive side of the ball.

The Cowboys’ schedule was released last night. After looking it over the first couple of times, they will likely win 12 games for the third year in a row.

They have two tough stretches, but they will definitely have a chance to win the NFC East or enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed.

We still have a long way to go before we have to worry about about that though. I think we can agree this team looks a heck of a lot better at this time than they did last season.

I expect Lamb and Cooks to have over 1,000 yards this season. What do you think?

I think they need to keep Luepke FB/TE. He could be listed as the 4th TE behind Ferguson, Schoonmaker, and Hendershot plus be a ligit FB which the Cowboys haven't had in nearly a decade. Decent speed but really hard to bring down!! I think he would give the Cowboys a boost. Great receiver and good power back!!! Watch his film at North Dakota State, it's impressive.

Nothing drives me crazier than a writer who writes in the first person. "I think" ... "I believe" etc should never be used. You're the one writing for god's sake! Everyone knows you think it. It's inherent! It's lesson one in journalism 101. Painful to read.

Noah Brown was your number 2 receiver last year. That is all I have to say.

      Ken Jesse exactly my point.

Paul Bishop Early on, but then Brown faded. With Gallup coming off an injury, really all the Cowboys had was Lamb at WR. Everyone expected Gallup to be what he had been, but that's not realistic having major knee surgery in February and then playing that fall. Gallup should be back to form this season and with Cooks added, it will give Gallup better looks. Gallup not a #1 WR, but when healthy is a good #2 or #3!!!

Prescott is not a top tier QB. Definitely not worth the money he's being paid. The second string QB ran the offense better with less mistakes

He did not run the offense better. The only reason Dallas won those games was because the defense was playing lights out. Rush didn't win those games he just didn't lose them. Dallas offense was easy to predict with Dak. The defense should be better this year and hopefully Dak doesn't have to try and make bonehead throws. Tony Romo had to carry Dallas on his back because the defense sucked. I would have loved to see him play with a defense like Dallas has now.
